A Stranger in Town
Today ranks among the strangest day I have ever experienced. Other than the fact that I was alone in town, it was one of the rare days that I went shopping.
The day started oddly normal enough. Simon, Vendetta’s sound man, was supposed to accompany me but fate had something else in store. Halfway in my journey to Bugis, he texted me that he was unavailable for the day. Oh well, I couldn’t turn back right.
So there I was, alone in Bugis, without a damn clue where the toy shop was. All I know is that the shop is located along North Bridge Road and Kandahar Street. I walked and walked, passing by Raffles Hospital, Haji Lane and Sultan Mosque but the shop was still not in sight. Finally, I found it. I stepped in to be greeted by a pair of suspicious eyes. It was as though he knew why I was there.
However, the words that came out of his mouth betrayed his eyes. He told me, the real shop is located down the street and where I was is just the warehouse. Phew, I thought. Luckily he didn’t see me through. At long last, I managed to find the shop. But the disappointment followed. I didn’t find what I wanted to buy. Thanks assholes.
I then decided to walk to Beach Road Shopping Complex. It was further down the road. And by further, I meant the other end of North Bridge Road. I took a longer route, exploring the place. Thank god because I found some new places I can use in Vendetta. I bought a bottle of Iced Coffee, knowing it was going to be the beginning of a long day.
When I arrived at Beach Road Shopping Complex, my disappointment was still there. The shop was no longer in active. Bloody hell, all that walk for nothing! When I was walking towards there, I saw a couple of shops that might had what I wanted.
The disappointment was tired from all that walking I guess, and Lady Luck shine on me. Although it isn’t exactly what I wanted, I was thankful it was there. I found myself a place and tested out the products. Cool shit man!
I wasn’t satisfied and decided to drop by Bugis Junction and Suntec City Mall to search for more. This time round, that fucking disappointment followed me.
Unsurprisingly, City Hall was crowded with humans, all going to the IT Fair. I made the mistake of taking the City Link Mall walk through. Go figure.
However, my journey at Suntec ended on a bright note. I bought myself a poster of The Godfather at a discount, and even decided to purchase a frame along with it. The whole poster will be ready by next week and I can’t wait for it. I won’t say it was expensive but at $50, it was quite heavy.
And you want to know a bigger surprise, I wasn’t even hungry throughout the whole journey! I didn’t consume any food for half the day. Bad I know, but hey, food totally escaped my mind!
Tonight will be a smelly night as I will modify my products. Going to paint it with an airbrush. If my neighbors complain, I will make them ‘say hello to my little friend’.
Heh, you should have guessed by now what the product is. If not, go take your time.
Dim the fucking lights =)
