Alchemist of Words

True Or False

This week, I got a little quiz for my dedicated readers out there. I am going to give two short stories about myself and you are going to vote which one is true and which one is false.

  • First story: Iron Boy

When I was four, I used to play in the living room in my house. My sister was then nine and she got school, so I played alone most of the time. I would play with my toy rifles and action figurines. I remembered one morning when my mum was ironing my sister’s school uniform. I was then having lunch with my sister. She was in primary 3 so she had the afternoon session. After my mum finishing ironing, she forgot to switch it off and went to shower.

I went to her room to tell her I finish eating so she can wash the plates. She was in the shower so I waited by the bed. It was then that I saw the iron. Being a curious kid, i went to examine the iron. It was big considering my size then. I iron the sheet for a while. Bored, I wanted to touch the base of the iron. I did not know it was still switch on, so I placed my finger there. The hotness engulfed my entire body and I dropped it on my thigh. It was an instinctual move. I felt hotness in my thigh and pushed the iron away! My mom went out just at that moment and rushed to me. I did not cry or scream.

  • Second story: Dogs, Dogs Go Away!

I used to go to Kallang when I was in primary school during the weekends. I would go there to eat lunch with my mum after she’s done with her work. I’d still fondly remember the mee rebus, nasi ayam, mee siam and much, much more delicious food! I would take a bus from the interchange and travel all the way to Depot Rd before changing bus to the old Kallang interchange.

From there, I would walk till I reach the coffeeshop where I would meet my mum. It was a short walking distance, with private apartments by the side and going through a pathway with bushes by the side. Mum always said that there were dogs there but I had not meet any. That day was unlucky for me I guess.

After alighting, I could hear the dogs barking. I though I would be fine and just continue to walk to my destination. At the pathway, I could hear the dogs right behind me. My mum taught me that if a dog were to ever follow you, do not run as the dog would chase after you also. Sweats were trickling down my forehead already. I swore that that was the longest walk I had ever taken! True to my mum’s words, the dogs lost interest in me and went away. i breathe a sigh of relief and quickly ran towards the coffeeshop. I could not wait to tell my mum what had happened!

I think story 1 is true and story 2 is false? Because story 1 the description is more detailed and vivid. :D

Somehow, I think the iron boy story is the fake ass one. I dont somehow think that you have an iron scar on you. so…

and about the dogs, I am somehow banking on your muslim brought up so I am guessing its true

I think story 2 is real because it seems unexciting, as in the events that unfold don’t seem something you’d cook up.
